Wow.
I had been putting off telling the head of the chemistry department from Lousiana College(the school I previously attended) about my decision to forego graduate school to get a PhD in chemistry and pursue teaching instead. I've put it off for about a year, because I've been terrified that he'd be dissappointed in me. I finally emailed him Saturday. I spent all morning terrified at what his response would be, but I came home to the most amazingly encouraging reply. He ended it with this:
"But I have no expectations of you beyond what you and Tom decide. I'll
always remember you as the best chemistry student I ever had the privilege
to teach and a student with deep spiritual depth. "
That made me cry. God is so good. So, so good.
Thank you Jesus.
